Talala Man Sentenced To Prison For Writing $160,000 Worth Of Counterfeit Checks

The United States Attorney's office for the Northern Oklahoma District said a Talala Man has been sentenced for using counterfeit checks to buy cars. According to the office, Scotty Belcher wrote almost $160,000 in fake checks to four vehicle dealerships in Tulsa, Sand Springs and Collinsville. Belcher was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Belcher will also have to pay an additional 2,500 to Synergy Motorworks for damages caused to motorcycles that h

The United States Attorney's office for the Northern Oklahoma District said a Talala man has been sentenced for using counterfeit checks to buy cars.

According to the office, Scotty Belcher wrote almost $160,000 in fake checks to four vehicle dealerships in Tulsa, Sand Springs and Collinsville.

Belcher was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Belcher will also have to pay an additional 2,500 to Synergy Motorworks for damages caused to motorcycles that he bought with the fake checks.

The court will also decide how much in further restitution he will have to pay to Kent's Custom Cars of Collinsville.
