Veteran Salute: Steve Smethers

News On 6 is continuing to recognize veterans across Green Country who are making a difference in their communities.

Today, we are honoring Steve Smethers.

Steve recently turned 76-years-old.

He was going to become a preacher but decided to serve his country instead; he spent nearly 7 years in the Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War.

We're told, he has a huge heart and is always helping others.
