Gov. Stitt Says Oklahoma On Track To 'Get Our Summer Back'

Gov. Kevin Stitt announced that Oklahoma is on track to “get our summer back” and looked back upon how Oklahoma responded to the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday.

Governor Stitt said Oklahomans rose to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and have continued to do their part to help the state get through this difficult time.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, “we have faced challenges and felt the impacts from the pandemic on our lives,” Stitt said.

Stitt said Oklahomans came together throughout the pandemic.

“We have weathered the storm together,” Stitt said. “We are on track to get our summer back.”

Governor Stit said he will be issuing an executive order on Friday, and he said it will not have any statewide restrictions on events.

There will be “no statewide restrictions on events and [I’ll] removing the requirement to wear masks in state buildings,” Stitt said.

Governor Stitt also stated that COVID-19 will never fully go away, and Oklahomans need to continue to do their part.
