Police are investigating two separate homicides that happened over the weekend in Tulsa.
On Saturday night, police responded to the intersection of 61st and Peoria where someone had been shot in the arm.
While officers were on scene, they were told about a second victim who had died in a nearby apartment due to a gunshot wound.
"We're still attempting to find out who the victim is at this time, and we're in the process of investigating," Tulsa Police Department Lt. Brandon Watkins said.
Around 10:45 a.m. Sunday, authorities were called to the America's Best Value Inn & Suites near Memorial and East 31st Street. Police said a car pulled into the parking lot and another person went out to talk to the driver.
Watkins said the two got into an argument. At some point, the victim was shot.
"The ‘why’ it happened is still a mystery right now, but we will get to the bottom of it," Watkins said.
A person later called police, told officers he was involved in the shooting and later turned himself into custody.
The victim of the Sunday morning shooting was identified as 28-year-old Kyle Buck. Buck suffered a gunshot wound in the upper torso.
It's been a busy handful of hours for officers.
"It's just the way these things happen,” Watkins said. “We had several weeks where we didn't have anything and that was wonderful. And then today, people decided to get stupid.”
Tulsa police has not released the names of any suspects involved in both shootings.
