A woman was arrested after leading officers on a pursuit on Monday night, according to Tulsa police.
The chase started at a carwash located near 41st and Highway 169.
Police were called to the carwash by an employee who had an argument with the woman. The employee told News On 6 the woman threatened him with a shovel at one time.
Tulsa Police said when they arrived the woman took off in a Ford Escape. Police said the ground chase was terminated after the driver was reaching high speeds and ran red stoplights, but the helicopter continued from above.
Police said the woman eventually crashed behind a building near 46th and Memorial. According to police, she was intoxicated while driving.
“As soon as we engaged to conduct an actual car stop to try and get her to stop she took off and that’s when we pursued her,” said Captain Jillian Phippen, Tulsa Police. “Ultimately our helicopter took over then she ended up here with a disabled vehicle.”
The suspect has not yet identified.
