Police say a man who went on a 24-hour crime spree is in jail tonight. They arrested Will Mays after a short standoff at the Stonehaven Villas near 81st and Highway 169 Wednesday evening.

Police arrested Mays and a teenager, but said they are looking for a third person.

Tulsa Police said it's been a challenging few days trying to track down Mays.

Jamie Park was on her way home when she saw police surrounding her apartment complex in a standoff with Mays.

"What in the world is going on out here, so I couldn’t get in and I had to ask police if I could even get into my apartment and he said ‘just don’t come outside,’" Parks said.

Police said Mays first rammed a police car Tuesday night but got away. They found him Wednesday after a domestic violence situation and began tracking him with their helicopter.

"Because of his propensity to speed and put the general public in great danger, we decided not to engage in a pursuit at that time, so we got out helicopter out," said Capt. Richard Meulenberg.

Police said Mays and two others jumped out of a stolen car near 78th and Memorial. Mays and a teenager drove off in another stolen car, while the third person ran away.

Police used stop sticks to disable the tires on the stolen car, and Mays and the teenager ran away again.

Officials said he tried carjacking two other victims before running into an apartment, where after a short standoff, police were able to go in and get him.

"We're probably going to string him to a whole series of crimes," Meulenberg said.

Park said she's thankful no one was home when he was inside of the apartment and the situation is unsettling.

"Very uncomfortable, that's a little disconcerting, you know people leave their garages open all the time, it's uncomfortable to think about it," Park said.

Police said this is a complicated series of events involving several victims and they are still investigating.
