City Of Tulsa To Build New Bus Lane At Edison Preparatory School

A new traffic project near 41st and Harvard will likely cause delays for the next six months. The city is temporarily closing part of the road to make room for a new bus lane at Edison Preparatory School.

The project begins on Monday morning and according to the city, the work will last through late August.

The city plans to create a new bus lane just south of 41st Street so that Edison buses no longer have to sit in the middle of a busy road during drop-off and pick-up.

The road work will shut down the two south lanes on 41st Street making it a two-lane road for the next several months.

Edison school officials said that the work will impact traffic flow around the school.

Starting on Monday, buses will no longer be able to load and unload on 41st. Instead, buses will use the northeast parking lot in front of Jim Seller's Field House.

That parking lot will be off-limits to students and parents during drop-off and pick-up for the rest of this school year.

Buses will also not be able to turn off of 41st into the school because of the construction.

Parents who have a student at Edison should have received an email showing them where they can pick up their student for the rest of the school year.
