Witness Describes ‘Shocking’ Moment Car Rolled, Slammed Into Tulsa Hair Salon

A driver and his family witnessed the moments an SUV rolled and crashed into a hair salon at 12th and Harvard Monday.

Tulsa Police say a car was driving down Harvard when the driver swerved, rolled and crashed into Michael Brothers Hair Salon. Tulsa Police said two people were in the car but are expected to be OK.

"It was just a ‘holy cow, this guy is coming into my lane, what's he doing,’" said witness Bill Kaiser. 

Kaiser was driving with his wife and two young grandchildren when he saw the crash. He said his wife called 911 while he rushed to help, pulling the passengers out of the car.

"I saw his car start to roll as I was pulling over because I knew it was going to be a bad accident, he plowed into the building," Kaiser said. 

Kaiser said the entire ordeal was shocking, and he's thankful it didn't end in a tragedy. 

"I think when you receive a picture of a car hanging out of your building, it's startling," said salon owner Michael Brothers. 

Salon owner Michael Brothers said people were inside working at the time and one stylist was just a foot away from where the car came into the building.

He said it's a miracle no one was hurt. 

"The blinds were down so the glass that shattered, didn't even blow through the shop, it was able to stop a lot of the debris from hitting people," Brothers said. 

While Brothers will have to redo the front of his building, he's keeping a positive attitude and is grateful it wasn't worse. 

"This is bricks, and paint, and windows, and things can be replaced, and people are more important," Brothers said. 

Brothers said the salon hopes to be open no later than Wednesday. 

Tulsa Police are still investigating to figure out exactly what happened.
