The City of Tulsa is asking for the community’s help in cleaning up streams in the metro area over the next two weeks starting this weekend. This is the city's 27th Annual Creek Clean-Up event, but due to the pandemic, the city has made some changes to the process.

The 14-day clean-up throughout various parts of the city will run from April 10 through April 24.

The city said on its website there are 20 locations spread across the city for groups to choose from to make sure each area is thoroughly cleaned up before moving on to the next one since officials say some spots are much worse than others. Once you register you or your group online, clean-up supplies and a location will be provided for you for the day. All supplies must be returned at the end of the day since they are limited.

According to the city, this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic they are keeping groups small with only five to 10 volunteers per location and they are asking everyone to wear a mask. They are asking people who do not live in the same household to practice physical distancing measures.

They are encouraging volunteers to wear close-toed shoes, clothes you do not mind getting dirty and bring light snacks and water.
