Governor Kevin Stitt signed a bill into law Tuesday to help solve cases involving missing and murdered Native Americans.

Senate Bill 172 is better known as “Ida’s Law.” It directs the State Bureau of Investigation to ramp up its efforts and seek additional federal funding to help families find closure.

The law’s author said there are more than 220 missing Native Americans in Oklahoma.
