A metro man is left heartbroken after his best friend was gunned down outside an Oklahoma City bar.

For the past six years Fernando Rosas Botello said he and Kelley Lucio were inseparable.

“We were like, in a sense like glue, not only was she my friend, I could consider her a big sister figure,” said best friend Rosas Botello.

On April 10, Kelley Lucio's life came to an unexpected end.

“Officers located 22-year-old Kelley Lucio who was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second gunshot victim identified as 44-year-old Lorenzo Ramirez was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Megan Morgan.

“It's just not fair, you know? It's really not, because she was never looking for trouble, never got into trouble,” said Rosas Botello.

According to police, Lucio was leaving a metro bar with a group of friends when they were ambushed as they walked to their car.

Lucio's best friend was out of town when he learned the news.

“She showed me a message and it said Kelley was shot and I was in disbelief. Like I questioned her a few times, like huh?” said Rosas Botello.

He said Kelley, just 22 years old, radiated positivity.

“She definitely just lifted me up, she was the light that came into my day,” said Rosas Botello.

Police arrested Diana Perez and Emilio Ybarra only days after the deadly shooting.

“The arrests have been made. It was solved quickly, great job police, but my best friend is gone. I’ll never see her again,” said Rosas Botello.

And while her spirit will always remain in their hearts and memories, a nagging question remains.

“Truly just why? I will never know that reason, I don't think any of us will,” said Rosas Botello.

Surveillance video helped lead police to the arrests.
