Tuesday, The City of Tulsa started a new construction project near the Whirlpool plant, in addition to the nearly three dozen projects already happening. The city currently has 33 active road projects, some in residential areas and others on busy streets.

The project on Yale between 91st to 101st started in April of last year, crews are widening the road and adding additional lanes, which means drivers can only use one lane in each direction for now. Another busy area is Mingo between 71st and 81st, that project started in August of 2019.

While crews work on Mingo, there is also a project on 71st Street near the Mingo intersection. In addition to all of the city projects in Tulsa, there are also several state highway projects affecting drivers, like the one at Highway 75 and Interstate 44.

City officials said they expect Mingo from 71st to 81st to be completed by the end of May.
