Family and friends of four people who were seriously hurt in a car crash said the family is deeply involved in the Muskogee and Fort Gibson communities.
A mother, father and two young kids were seriously injured in an I-40 crash on their way to a soccer tournament in Oklahoma City.
The Impson family was hit by a wrong-way driver and both parents were put into medically induced comas.
On Wednesday, friends of the family like Michele Olshen gave a glimpse into how the community is dealing with the aftermath.
"It's just ripping us apart right now," Olshen said. "I think we're just all in shock right now, we cannot believe this is happening. Just a little emotional, it's been a really rough couple of days."
Olshen teaches at the Muskogee school where both Karson and Kase are students and both Klint and Katie volunteer.
"She's an amazing individual. Her husband is the same way, any time we needed to do anything they were the first couple that was in line, ready to help," she said.
Katie and Olshen were fast friends, but the wreck has also been tough on fellow teachers who taught Karson and Kase.
"Never a bad word about the family. They're just very well-loved and well-liked," teacher Shannon Johnson said.
In the wake of tragedy, the Muskogee community has come out with fundraisers and lots of prayers.
"I know that it is not looking good right now. All of us, we're absolutely devastated," Olshen said.
