Man Sentenced To Life Without Parole In Murder Of 2-Year-Old Girl

A Pottawatomie County judge sentenced a man to life without parole Wednesday after a jury found him guilty on two counts of murder.

Cashe Graham, 26, was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Jamie Murdock, 2.

On September 1, 2017, first-responders were called to a home on the 1200 block of E. Highland Street in Shawnee.

Murdock was found unresponsive and later died due to swelling and bleeding on the brain. She was first treated at St. Anthony hospital in Shawnee, but was later transferred to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City.

In 2017, Shawnee Police told News 9 it was Murdock’s third trip to the emergency room in just one month.

“He (Graham) has put us all through hell for the last three years, and we’re glad that we can return the favor,” said Debbie Newton, Murdock’s grandmother. “It’s heart wrenching to see my son go on every holiday to decorate a grave that shouldn’t even exist.”

Graham was arrested along with Murdock’s biological mother, Whitney Breslin, 25.

Graham, according to court records, is Murdock’s stepfather.

In a plea deal, Breslin pled guilty to three counts of allowing and enabling child abuse. She was originally charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of allowing and enabling child abuse.

A judge sentenced Breslin to 12 years behind bars.

Graham and Breslin claimed Murdock’s injures were due to her sleepwalking.

“We miss her (Murdock) everyday but especially at holidays (like) Christmas and Thanksgiving where all the family gets together,” said Betty Pope, Murdock’s great grandmother.

Family has waited over three years for justice -- justice that couldn’t come soon enough.

“I’m very satisfied with the judge’s decision,” said Pottawatomie County District Attorney, Allan Grubb. “He did exactly what the jury and the citizens of our county needed and wanted, and he protected future children from this man horrific abuse.”

At the time Graham was sentenced, Murdock would have been nearly 7-years-old.
