The Tulsa Police Officers’ Memorial Friday night to honor the 41 officers that have been killed in the line of duty since 1917.
The vigil was held at the Tulsa Police Academy. Organizers gave special honors to Sergeant Craig Johnson and Officer Jerad Lindsey, who both died last year.
“Our department, 24 years without a line of duty death, and then to have two in one year, that's certainly hard for us,” Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin said.
The Officers’ Memorial will hold a service Saturday to honor the 41 fallen officers and families will be escorted by the Tulsa Honor Guard.
