Food trucks, artists, activities, and other venders are taking over the streets of the Tulsa Arts District downtown.
Mayfest is a free event where you can shop for unique artwork made right here in Tulsa and across the country.
Local artist Toni Perry says she's thrilled to show off her work for the first time after the event was cancelled last year because of the pandemic.
"I was painting, but I wasn't seeing people and people weren't seeing me or my work; so, it very exciting to be here today," Perry said.
Festival Director Heather Pingry said she's been a part of Mayfest for over a decade, but she says she doesn't get tired of all the planning, especially after a year off.
"As every moment goes on, as every tent is set up, or every new artist shows up to set up, I get more and more excited," Pingry said.
And if you're headed downtown for Mayfest, you need to know Boston is closed from Cameron to Archer.
Detroit is blocked off from I-244 all the way to Archer.
Elgin closed from Reconciliation to Archer.
You can't drive down Cameron between Boston and Detroit, And Reconciliation Way is closed for a few blocks from Boston to Elgin.
Pingry says the Tulsa Health Department has signed off on all the COVID-19 safety protocol they have in place.
"I've had my vaccinations," Perry said. "I will be wearing a mask; we'll all be wearing masks. So, I think as long as we all make good decision for ourselves and the people around us, we'll all be OK."
Mayfest runs from Friday through Sunday.
