Mayfest returns to downtown Tulsa for the first time in two years on Friday and organizers say there could be hundreds of thousands of guests over the weekend.
According to organizers, more than 100 artists will take part in this year's event and there will be lots of food and entertainment, including two different stages.
While masks are optional for attendees, all staff, volunteers, vendors and artists are required to wear one. There will also be hand washing and sanitizing stations set up across the festival.
The Director of Mayfest, Heather Pingry, said this year's event has been a long time in the making.
"We're really excited to be the first big-big festival that's happening and having that return to normalcy and having people in the community be able to come and gather safely but gather in large crowds again," said Pingry.
Mayfest begins at 11 a.m. on Friday.
