Tulsa Police said a 14-year-old has died after being hit by a car Thursday night.
Tulsa Police are looking for the owner of a black Dodge Charger who they say hit and killed a 14-year-old boy running in the street.
Police said the victim was one of three kids who stole a tip jar from a taco stand near 21st and 129th East Avenue Thursday night around 10 p.m.
One of the boys got hit by a car while trying to cross the street.
A 14-year-old died at the hospital.
Police say the driver of the car left the scene. Tulsa police officer Danny Bean said cases like this can be tough.
"It's just a sad deal all around," Bean said. "Obviously, the outcome is tragic and horrible for kids who are doing some bad things, kids getting into mischief and getting in trouble, and this is definitely an outcome that's ever seen."
The other kids who were with the victim were not hurt and have been released to their parents.
Police are still searching for the driver and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. You can remain anonymous.
