Tax day has arrived for millions of Americans, but many in Oklahoma still have time to file due to the impact of February's winter storms.
The deadline is now Tuesday, June 15th for both personal and business tax filings in Oklahoma.
The federal deadline was the first to be pushed back, then the Oklahoma Tax Commission followed with a similar decision.
The IRS said the extension is for everyone impacted by the winter storms in February. Those storms blanketed the state in the snow eventually leading to rolling blackouts.
The extension is for all 77 counties in Oklahoma.
You do not need to request anything, the IRS says they automatically identify taxpayers who live and have businesses in the covered disaster areas.
