City of Tulsa Pools To Open On Staggered Schedule, Lifeguard Hiring Incentive Offered
The City of Tulsa pools will now open on a staggered schedule due to a shortage of lifeguards. The city is offering a $150 hiring bonus at the end of the first week and an additional $250 at the end of the season for lifeguards to work this summer. The city needs 36 lifeguards to be fully staffed but they said, so far, only five lifeguards have been hired. To apply, call Nick Pond at 918-596-2526 or email at npond@cityoftulsa.org.
Starting June 7, the city pool schedule is as follows:
Whiteside – Open Mondays and Thursdays
Berry – Open Tuesdays and Fridays
Lacy – Open Wednesdays
McClure – Open Fridays
Cherokee Nation Hosts Virtual Forum On Mental Health
On Wednesday, the Cherokee Nation will be holding a virtual forum on mental health for all Cherokee citizens.
Chief Chuck Hoskin Junior and Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner will be discussing mental health in the tribe.
They will also be highlighting the tribe's multi-million dollar annual mental health and wellness initiatives.
That forum will take place over zoom at 6 p.m. Monday.
