Tulsa Police Search For Suspect After Man Shot In The Stomach

Tulsa police are searching for a suspect who they say shot a man in the stomach Sunday morning.

Tulsa Police say both the victim and the suspect, who they believe to be friends, were last seen walking around 51st and Yale just 24 hours ago. Police say the suspect appears to have shot his friend near Heston Pointe Apartments before he ran northeast past The Crossings Apartment Complex.

Police say they got the call just before 2 a.m. and when they arrived on the scene officers found the victim in the road with one gunshot wound to the stomach.

They say the victim was responsive but wouldn't give any information about the suspect. The victim was transported to a Tulsa hospital where he was taken into surgery and is expected to be okay. TPD is using survillence video and statements from witnesses to help in the investigation.

Investigators found three shell casings in the road and have collected other evidence while surveying the area.

Sgt. Emily Michie with TPD says they may have the first name of the suspect but haven't been able to locate him. Police are not releasing a detailed description of the suspect or the victim at this time.

"We've kind of canvased both parking lots. We do have surveillance out here. Video camera stuff. So it's just reviewing it and then hopefully someone, either the victim or someone else comes forward," said Sgt. Michie

This is an ongoing investigation.
