One Tulsa Day Center employee celebrated his 35th year serving the homeless on Friday!

His co-workers threw him a cookout and gave out awards to show their appreciation. They say Bill Bellamy dedicated decades of his life to doing Something Good for those living on the streets.

Tulsa Day Center employees had a cookout today honoring Bellamy, their longest-serving employee! Bill has been a security guard at the Day Center for 35 years now! He served in the Army and the Tulsa Police Department. He retired from TPD in 2010 and went from working part-time at the Day Center to full-time.

"He is really the bedrock of the Tulsa Day Center, he has been here for so many years. He has been here since before this building was built. This is his third building to be in," said Tulsa Day Center Executive Director Mack Haltom.

"Most of the people you meet out here on the street- will know me. You can go back here and ask, who is the security in here and they will tell you my name and it is not because I have done something to them, it is because I treated them right," said Bill.
