Tulsa City pools open this week, but hours will be limited to start the season because of a lifeguard shortage.

For the next two weeks, Whiteside pool will be open Mondays and Thursdays.

The pool in Berry Park will be open Tuesdays and Fridays and the Lacy Park pool will be open on Wednesdays.

The pool in McClure Park will open on Saturdays, starting June 19.

The city currently has six certified lifeguards with eight in training. There needs to be at least 24 lifeguards to open all the pools at once.

Tulsa Parks pays lifeguards $9.63 per hour but is offering a $150 signing bonus and another $250 at the end of the summer for new lifeguards.
