As cyclists prepare for Tulsa Tough, there are some road closures you should know about.

Saturday's closures will be between Boulder and MLK Jr. Blvd as well as Easton and Brady Street.

The closures started at 6 a.m. and is expected to stay closed until 2 a.m. Sunday.

Riverside Drive will be closed between Galveston and Lawton starting at 5 a.m. Sunday.

The Saturday races themselves started at 9:30 a.m. and will wrap up at around 9:30 p.m.

The last course on Sunday is expected to start at 8 a.m. and will finish at 6 p.m.

For those who don't like the traffic, organizers said residents shouldn’t worry.

Tulsa Tough director Malcolm McCollam said its cleanup crew is one of the most efficient. Tulsa Tough is one of the few events that cleans up on the same day that they set up.

"In terms of our road closures, we start in the morning,” McCollam said. “We come in, we build the infrastructure, we have the event, the crew comes in, they tear everything down, and the next morning when they come by the venue, wouldn't even know we were there. We are in and out."

McCollam and some of the first-time riders say they are excited about all the action though.

Logan McPherson, who has only been riding since January, says seeing the crowd hypes him up.

"It's been a really cool experience because this is (sic) the biggest crowds I've ever raced in front of," McPherson said.

"It was a good reminder to, you know, maybe not take some of these things for granted so much," McCollam said.
