Many Tulsans have celebrated Juneteenth every year, but for the first time, it’s being observed this year as an official federal holiday.
June 19, 2021 marks 156 years since African Americans in Galveston, Texas received word that they were emancipated from slavery.
Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce and Legacy Fest have a full day of festivities planned to celebrate the fight for freedom.
