National Firm Evaluating Tulsa Police Community Policing Practices

A nationally-accredited policing firm is working with Tulsa Police to help build trust between officers and the community.

The city hired the firm to evaluate the department and give recommendations. The evaluation includes focus groups and a public survey.

“It's not something that's a one and done deal. It really takes effort and time. And it's going to take us some time to engrain that culture into our officers,” Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin said.

The evaluation is expected to be done by fall.
