A non-profit is just weeks away from being able to drive around Tulsa with a mobile shower unit to help the homeless.

Donations paid for the trailer that the Be Heard Movement will be using to do Something Good for those in need.

25-year-old Evan Dougoud makes documentary films at homeless camps across Tulsa.

"Just trying to restore dignity," said Evan.

In less than a year, Evan has won awards.

"I won the Rising Star Award and only one person in the whole Oklahoma gets it. I had no clue I was even in the running for it," said Evan.

His non-profit, The Be Heard Movement has evolved from mini-documentary films to something completely different.

"I want to humanize homelessness so- I love food! Let's see how they cook and what they eat," said Evan.

And now he is working to bring free, safe showers to Tulsa's homeless.

"If we can support people on the street with a clean shower, hygiene, therapy- we hope that that gets them back to their purpose," said Evan.

The trailer will be pulled by a truck through the city- people will be able to work with Evan and his team to get whatever resources they need to take the next step forward.

"A church blessed us with a shower trailer that has two showers, a therapy room/medical room, a clothing room, and then a place on the outside for haircuts," said Evan, "The goal is for people to get services right then and there."

The hope is for this trailer to be hitting city streets by the end of July.

"Things keep elevating," said Evan, "I hope this encourages people in my generation to make a change."

Evan is hoping this won't just be a resource for Tulsa's homeless but for people all over the state who need help.

"Now we just need some funds to help keep running it, to clean it- insurance and things like that because it is going to be a work in progress. We just needed the community to help the community," said Evan.
