Tulsa police officers are searching for a group of thieves they said stole thousands of dollars worth of fireworks from multiple stores.
Surveillance video from Thursday morning showed a group of thieves breaking into a trailer full of fireworks belonging to the store, stealing as much as they could before running away.
Store manager Brent McClure said thieves try to burglarize the store every year around the Fourth of July but said this group is taking it to another level.
"It feels like a violation to you," McClure said. "It's something that you never really want to happen. Here, it's happened more than what we liked to, you know, think about."
Stokes also wants the public to know if you're buying fireworks from outside the store, and you see someone with this box with a Jake's Fireworks on it. Chances are, you could be buying stolen property.
"There's already a shortage of products this year, and with them stealing items we do have, that's less than we can get out to the public so they can celebrate July 4th," Jake’s Fireworks employee Ron Stokes said.
The place right next door said its alarm has been triggered multiple times by the same group with the same white Chevy pickup.
Stokes said the police believes the truck matches the one used in the Edison High School band fundraiser theft earlier this week.
"With everybody teaming up on this, we're going to catch these guys," Stokes said.
