OHP: Driver Dies After Striking Bridge, Tree In Washington County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it is investigating a deadly collision in Washington County.

The collision happened just before 5 a.m. Sunday on West 100 Road near Copan.

According to Troopers, 29-year-old Ethan Smith of Caney, Kansas was traveling eastbound on West 100 Road when he hit a bridge, drove off the road and struck a tree.

Medical personnel who responded to the scene said Smith died of his injuries at the scene.

The OHP said Smith was not wearing a seatbelt.
