Oklahoma State Plans Celebration Of Program, NFL Great Barry Sanders

The Oklahoma State athletic department said Thursday it will honor legendary Cowboy running back Barry Sanders during the 2021 OSU football season.

Sanders' name and No. 21 jersey will be added to the Ring of Honor at Boone Pickens Stadium as a part of OSU's Nov. 13 home game against Texas Christian.

He will become the second Cowboy in the program's Ring of Honor after fellow teammate and NFL Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas was inducted in 2020.

The university also announced a sculptor is currently working on a statue of Sanders, which will be placed outside of the stadium.
