Tulsa and Turley firefighters are on the scene of a house fire near East 65th Pl and N Franklin Ave in Turley.
Crews have the fire under control as of 6:30 a.m. but the home appears to be a total loss. The Tulsa Fire Department says the house was fully involved when they got here but it appears to be vacant and no one was injured. They say the house had no utilities but had lots of siding which made for lots of flare-ups. They spent some time soaking the floor of the house using a ladder truck and say they still have a few hot spots to put out.
Firefighters also had to deal with hydrants spread out.
“[It's] Always a challenge up here in Turley. Its water supply, the hydrants are much farther apart, spaced out much farther than in the city of Tulsa,” said James Yoder with Tulsa Fire.
The State Fire Marshall has been called to conduct an investigation.
