"Killers of the Flower Moon" is now filming in Downtown Tulsa. The movie is the latest example of Hollywood coming to Oklahoma.

The city of Tulsa is getting a taste of Hollywood and some Green Country natives are learning first-hand what it's like to make a major motion picture possible. There's a lot that happens before, between and after... lights, camera, action.

"You work long hours and we worked in every element. You worked in the rain. You worked in the heat," said Echo Reed.

"A period piece like this, it's crazy," said Jamie Van Winkle.

Every detail is calculated, from scheduling to hair and makeup.

"They constantly change you around until they get what they want," said Reed.

Echo Reed and Jamie Van Winkle work for News On 6. They are also extras in an upcoming big budget film.

"I met so many people and had so much fun," said Reed.

"Killers of the Flower Moon" is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

"I just kind of leaned back and waved at Leonardo and he waved back," said Reed.

"You know how good they really are as an actor that after each take, they're ready for the next one and the next one and the next one," said Van Winkle.

Van Winkle said he will never watch a movie the same way again.

"I'm like well that's a 14-hour day. Well, that's a 14-hour day. And it's a huge collaboration," said Van Winkle.

Crews have spent much of their time shooting on location in Osage County where the historical events the movie's based on took place.

"This was the reign of terror, and this is a part of Osage history. Families were lost because of greed," said Reed.

Filming in Oklahoma means lots of job opportunities and more folks spending dollars in state. Oklahoma has become attractive to film studios thanks in part to the Filmed in Oklahoma Act. It gives incentives to companies to film here through June 2031, opening the door for more movies in Oklahoma over the next decade.
