A man who kidnapped his ex-wife in Broken Arrow has been convicted for the second time and sentenced to a longer time in prison than he originally received.
Randy Hammett cut a hole in the wall of her house to get inside. Then when she got home, he tased her, kidnapped her, and kept her for two days while assaulting her.
Hammett was convicted in 2018 and got 20 years in prison but appealed and got a new trial.
In the meantime, last year’s ruling on tribal jurisdiction happened, which allowed prosecutors to add several charges for the crimes on tribal lands.
Hammett was convicted on 12 counts in his new trial and this time, got a 33-year prison sentence.
