Broken Arrow students choosing to learn in person will return to classrooms on Wednesday morning. The district will encourage practices like hand washing and social distancing where possible to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
The district’s new Vanguard Academy, which is a state-of-the-art STEM facility for 9th-12th graders, also opens on Wednesday.
Parents are encouraged to keep an eye on their children to make sure they are not coming to school while feeling sick. Masks are optional in buildings and on school busses in accordance with current state law.
Broken Arrow Public Schools will use contact tracing to notify parents through email or by phone if a student has come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Should a student test positive, they can take part in distance learning.
The district will also defer to distance learning if cases get to a high number and it is necessary to close sites for cleaning. Other high-contact areas will also frequently be disinfected.
Breakfast and lunch are free to all students this year. The full back-to-school plan can be viewed by Clicking Here. https://www.baschools.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/2021-22%20Reentry%20Plan
