A north Tulsa charity said it has reached the fundraising goal that allows it to start construction on a new community center.

Crossover Community Impact said it’s exceeded a $1 million challenge to trigger an additional $1 million from a single, anonymous donor.

Crossover Health Services is the cornerstone of the new project, and the plans call for a community center to be built next on a 10 acres plot of land near 36th Street North and Peoria.

"It allows us to bring all elements of our comprehensive approach together in one location," Development Director Rondalyn Abode said.

The charity already operates separate boys and girls tuition-free private schools in rented buildings.

New schools will eventually be part of the expanding campus, in what Abode said is a $15 million project to help families and students with whatever services they need.
