Tulsa Police said a nurse on her way to work tried to save three people after a wreck on Highway 169 Monday night, but their injuries were too devastating.
Officers said a woman was driving the wrong way on an exit ramp to the highway and crashed head-on into another vehicle, killing two innocent victims.
Tulsa Police crash investigators believe the two people in the car on the highway simply did not have enough time to react to the woman driving toward them from the 91st Street off-ramp.

Tulsa Police said three lives ended after a woman driving a BMW the wrong way on the 91st Street off-ramp hit two others in another car who were going down Highway 169. Police said the woman driving the BMW was Kristin Hussein and estimate she was driving about 70 miles an hour.
Officers said several people stopped to help the victims.
"They were actually able to pull them out before the car started to burn,” Officer Andre Baul said.
One of those people helping on the scene was a registered nurse.
"Unfortunately, the two people that she was trying to render aid to, along with our other victim, they were already unresponsive. And I don't think there was anything she could do for them,” Baul said.
Officer Baul believes the time of day, about 10:15 p.m., played a role in the crash.
"Throughout the day, there's a lot of traffic that flows that gets off onto 91st Street because it's one of the first exits before you hit the Creek Turnpike before you actually have to pay,” he said. “So a lot of people exit around there, so you see a lot of cars coming off of there. This particular time of night, traffic is very light. They may not have seen anybody and mistaken the off-ramp for an on-ramp."
Police are still investigating the crash and the medical examiner is working to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Tulsa Police said they are working to notify the family or families of the victims in the white car before releasing their names.
