Glenpool Public Schools has announced that its Upper Elementary and Glenpool Lower Elementary will be moving to distance learning beginning Monday, August 30, 2021.
In a letter to parents, GPS officials said that because of a significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases among the staff and students the decision was made to move to distance learning to reduce the spread of the virus. Glenpool leaders say that they are trying to give parents enough time to make arrangements for the distance learning week.
"Friday, August 27, 2021, will be an optional distance learning day. Parents who have daycare arrangements for their children can start distance learning but the schools will still have in-person classes for parents who need more time to make arrangements for next week. Parents may choose which option works best for them on Friday. Students will return to regular instruction on September 7, 2021," according to the letter.
