The Owasso Rams and Broken Arrow Tigers are set to meet under the lights on Friday night for the third annual Folds of Honor Patriot Bowl. On the sidelines, it will pit Owasso head coach Bill Blankenship against his son, Broken Arrow head coach Josh Blankenship.

Bill Blankenship told News On 6 he is excited for both teams to be able to participate in a game that means a lot on and off the field. Both schools will make financial contributions to Folds of Honor, an organization providing scholarships to America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Owasso Stadium will be decked out with a lot of American flags and will have a flyover during the National Anthem. The game also falls on the weekend ahead of the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Bill coached his son during his time at Union and hired him as an assistant coach during his tenure at the University of Tulsa. Bill admitted he never thought of the day when he would coach against his son but is excited for Josh to have this head coaching role.

Tickets are still available for the game. The kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
