Governor Kevin Stitt declared the week of September 20th Deaf Awareness Week in Oklahoma.
It's meant to increase public awareness of deaf culture and American Sign Language. It also celebrates the work of the state's Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program (SDHH) and Oklahoma School for the deaf.
The SDHH gives guidance and training to help Oklahomans with hearing disabilities find employment.
They say the success of job seekers starts with an outstanding education.
