Tulsa County deputies are ready for the thousands who plan on attending the Tulsa State Fair over the next 11 days.
They said it's a team effort to keep everyone safe, especially when it comes to kids.
"Everybody looks the same from the waist down. You're following a pair of jeans and you think that's a mom and then five minutes later you look up and that's not mom. And now where is mom at," said Captain Scott Dean.
Captain Dean with Tulsa County Sheriff's Office encourages parents to discuss a plan with their kids ahead of time.
"Take a picture of your kid that day with what they are wearing cause having recoil of exactly what they are wearing and a solid description is that much more important for us," said Captain Dean.
They'll have 30 deputies on patrol at the fair each weekday and 50 on the weekends. Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado reminds people guns are not allowed and said they've added an additional 100 cameras around the fairgrounds.
"There's a lot of moving parts at the fair with rides and games and people. You know so the chances of having an accident is pretty enhanced. So we look for that. We look for people who are in need," said Sheriff Regalado.
He said if you see something suspicious report it so the fair is what it is supposed to be, fun for everyone.
"Interaction is really a big thing that our deputies look forward to. They get to talk to people under a fun atmosphere and so it's great just to be out and about. It's community policing really at its best," said Sheriff Regalado.
