Tulsa Community College is getting an additional $50,000 in scholarship money for students.
TCC graduates grouped together to donate the money. The school said a survey showed that 40% of its students are struggling with tuition during the pandemic and this money really helps.
“They can apply this towards their tuition, their fees,” Eunice Tarver with TCC said. “A lot of times, people don’t think about the expensive cost of books.”
“Even if it’s only a $500 scholarship of a $1,000 scholarship, that’s a thousand dollars less that I’m having to come up with,” TCC sophomore Brianna Mumma said.
The money will be given out in the form of a one-time scholarship next fall.
