A California man has been arrested and charged with bringing hundreds of pounds of meth into Oklahoma and Missouri.

Luis Alfredo Jacobo, 30, was arrested by federal agents in Bakersfield, California Monday on multiple counts related to “leading a continuing criminal enterprise that brought an estimated 2,000 pounds of methamphetamine into the Northern District of Oklahoma and southwestern Missouri for redistribution.”

“It’s a very significant case we’ve been working on for over a year here in Oklahoma with our federal and state partners in Missouri and all the way out to California,” said Mark Woodward, spokesperson for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Investigators accuse Jacobo of having meth, purchased in Mexico, brought to Bakersfield, California.

Then by either mail or vehicle the drugs were delivered directly to Oklahoma and Missouri.

“We’re not talking about small five or 10 pounds which would still be significant,” said Woodward. “They would bring anything from 50 to 100 pounds at a time to even 200 pounds at a time.”

The arrest comes after an October 2020 bust in Delaware County where inside a storage unit, investigators found 231 pounds of meth and nearly half a million dollars.

William Johnson III and Shauni Callagy of Grove, Oklahoma were arrested.

“When you look at the single most common drug showing up in autopsies and overdoses, methamphetamines are still our number one killer so there is still a demand for it, it’s just not being produced locally like we saw 15 years ago,” said Woodward.

OBN is currently working several other cases like this one.

“You’ve got to work these long-term conspiracies cases where you identify the entire network and bring them all down at once and that is what we were able to do,” said Woodward.

A total of 10 people were arrested by federal investigators related to the investigation.
