Work is starting on a pavement project on Highway 75 in Bartlesville.
Traffic cones are already set up in preparation for the $5.7 million ODOT project. Crews will be milling the first several inches of highway and replacing it with new asphalt starting at Frank Phillips Boulevard and going south all the way to West 2400 Road.
As crews work sections at a time, Highway 75 will be down to one lane in each direction. They will work on the outside lanes first then switch to working on the inside lanes.
City leaders say when work is happening in an intersection with a traffic light, it will be a flashing four-way stop until crews move past that area.
They say drivers can also expect entrances to businesses and side roads to be intermittently blocked off throughout the project but says contractors will work to notify those businesses as that happens.
This project is expected to take about two and a half months
