TULSA, Oklahoma -

A local nonprofit is helping women prepare for the workforce. Dress for Success Tulsa has helped more than 16,000 women prepare and land jobs since opening in Tulsa 20 years ago.

"Every day here is like a Cinderella story," said Katherine Skorvaga with Dress for Success Tulsa.

It is a place where women help women.

"I came in and got the clothes for the interview already and now I have come to get the clothes for the job that I got," said Dress for Success client Amanda Carrier.

You don't have to have a lot of money to walk out of this place with the tools you need to achieve your dreams.

"They come in, they get three outfits at no cost to them and then once they get the job and show proof of employment, they get four more outfits," said Skorvaga.

It’s a place where successful careers aren't just for those who can afford to "look the part."

"These ladies come in and might be a little shy and when they leave, they have a sack of clothes and this confidence they didn't have when they came in," said Skorvaga.

Welcome to Dress for Success Tulsa.

"It was amazing to hear her say, I finally got a job. I was so proud of her," said Carrier's daughter, Madison Jantzen.

This nonprofit doesn't only help women dress professionally for the job they want, they help women prepare, from resume to cover letter skills, budget, finances classes and even mock interviews.

"The worst anyone can do when you ask for help is say no, which isn't going to put you in any worse of a situation than you are already in, so don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help," said Carrier.

Dress for Success is in the middle of celebrating their 20-year anniversary and one of the ways they are celebrating is by setting up a Go Fund Me, just to make it a little easier for the community to support what they do here.
