Junior League of Tulsa is throwing a big garage sale and one purchase will help local charities.
The sale is at the old Borders Bookstore location near 21st and the Broken Arrow Expressway.
"What better way than to capitalize on our members and all of their goodies that they have and have been holding onto in their garage," Junior League of Tulsa's Rania Warren said.
The money raised today will go toward different community outreach programs.
Some organizations benefitting include Street School and the Hawthorne Elementary Art class.
Its work that Warren says is a labor of love.
"The mission of our organization is to train women to become volunteers in our community," Warren said.
Chris Oden has been volunteering with the Junior League of Tulsa for 10 years.
She says she's always enjoyed giving back, so getting to help with like-minded women makes the job more rewarding
"It's great working with all these wonderful women," Oden said. "I've made a ton of friends through it and they're just all great people and we're all just here to try to improve our community."
The last day of the sale is tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
