The City of Tulsa is evaluating feedback it received from the community about how it should develop more than 50 acres of land in and around the Greenwood District.
The city recently held two public meetings to get input on what’s called "Kirkpatrick Heights."
The City of Tulsa said leaders have a better idea on how to develop the 56 acres of unused land near Downtown.
The City of Tulsa said when the community spoke — their voices did not go unheard.
The city said a huge theme of both meetings was developing Kirkpatrick Heights to promote entrepreneurship, build generational wealth and restore the legacy of Black Wall Street.
Rodrigo Rojas with the City of Tulsa says the next step is addressing the feedback.
"We're going to really spend time to compile all that information that we received over these last two meetings and then our leadership committee, which is an 11-membership committee of proven North Tulsa leaders, they will really be the first ones to get a glimpse into that feedback,” said Rojas.
The City of Tulsa said plans for the land are still undecided but there will be more opportunities in the future for the community to give feedback on the land.
Those meetings haven’t been announced just yet.
