Tulsa police say a man is in custody after crashing a stolen truck into a creek.
Police say it all started around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday when a suspect stole a box truck from Bama Foods.
According to police, the suspect eventually made his way toward the intersection of East 46th Street North and North Lewis Avenue, where he cut through a gas station parking lot and ran a red light. He then crashed the vehicle into a nearby creek.
According to police, the suspect fled from the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Police say he was eventually caught by officers.
Two other drivers, who were at the intersection, crashed after the suspect ran the red light. Two people involved suffered minor injuries.
Police have not yet identified the suspect or the two victims involved in the crash.
Hazmat crews have been called to the scene to monitor a gasoline leak coming from the damaged truck.
Officers are asking that drivers avoid the intersection of East 46th Street North and North Lewis Avenue while crews work to clean up the scene.
