Watch: Made In Oklahoma Coalition Holds Photoshoot

A photoshoot featuring food is wrapping up for the Made in Oklahoma (MIO) Coalition.

The non-profit promotes locally made food products.

These photoshoots take place seasonally to showcase recipes.

"We're trying to make it look so well, so good, that when you take the picture of the food, it looks like you just want to eat it right off the plate,” said photographer Joe Glyda.

From coffee cake to egg frittatas, to a brownie-bottomed cheesecake, the food looks effortless.

But one picture is a team effort, and the photoshoots take nearly the entire day.

Glyda is a commercial photographer specializing in food. He says the photoshoots go beyond just putting food on a plate.

"Because you have to make it appear like it just came out of the oven,” Glyda said.

The food stylist prepares the recipe in the kitchen and while it's fresh, Glyda snaps the shot.

He pays attention to the tiniest details like moving a crumb and placing the fork, but he says the key is lighting.

"The backlight creates this highlight on the food, and then foreground is more like a shadow where the food kind of sits,” Glyda said.

Each recipe is made with food or beverage products that are in the MIO Coalition.

This shoot is highlighting winter recipes to go online and in local papers.

"So whether you're grocery shopping or eating at your favorite local restaurant, we try to make finding those Made In Oklahoma products as easy as possible,” said MIO Coalition Coordinator Emily Shuping.

Shuping says it's all to spread brand awareness about products made in Oklahoma by Oklahoma’s Own.

"When you make a decision to buy a local product, you're supporting a family here in Oklahoma. You're supporting a company in our state,” Shuping said.

These MIO Coalition recipes will be released throughout the next few months.
