If you're looking to get a head start on holiday shopping, "An Affair of the Heart" craft show is returning to Tulsa this weekend.

This is the largest and longest-running event of its kind in Oklahoma going on for more than three decades.

Vendors from across the country and the state will be selling homemade and boutique items from jewelry to home decor to handmade candles from local small businesses.

"You'll find so many things and so many things you love so much more when you know how it's made, who made it and that someone actually sat down and took the time to make those products for you,” said Charley Jean Candle Co. Owner Faith Wise.

Wise says her business is named after her daughter. All the candles are made from scratch, including real ingredients like wine and coffee beans.

"The fact that I make these candles and it's in other people's homes burning and making their home smell good and be comforting to them is absolutely amazing,” Wise said.

She says when you shop small, you're supporting someone's family and lifestyle.

"They're literally paying our rent, they're paying our water bill, they're buying our groceries for the week, they're sending my daughter to her thirty-minute ballet class a week,” Wise said.

This will be her second time to showcase her candles at "An Affair of the Heart."

Her business is one of the hundreds of vendors setting up shop at the show, which comes to Tulsa twice a year.

Show promoter Kristin Ware says it's a way to buy unique items or gifts in person without worrying about shipping delays.

"It's a great way to shop small on a grand scale, even if a vendor is from Minnesota or New York, they're small, family-run businesses that really put that money back into the economy, which is so important after the pandemic,” Ware said.

“An Affair of the Heart” is at the Sagenet Center Expo at Expo Square on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and will be good for all three days.
