December Warmth, Wind Cranking Back Up Across Green Country

Above normal temperatures have been quite the theme for December so far, and guess what we’ve got coming our way yet again to start the week: Yep, more December warmth!

You’ll need the coat to start the morning with a brisk south breeze underway, but that south wind and ample sunshine will help our temperatures climb nicely by this afternoon. It’ll be a super pleasant Monday afternoon with highs in the 60s, mostly sunny skies, and a south breeze 15 to 25 miles per hour.

Steady south winds continue overnight, and that’ll pump in cloud cover and higher humidity Tuesday morning. We’ll start off Tuesday morning in the lower 50s, with a few light showers in southeastern Oklahoma. We’ll start partly to mostly cloudy Tuesday, but yet again it’ll be quite mild with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and south winds gusting to 30 miles per hour.

Temperatures will be running at a near-record pace on Wednesday, as those stout south winds keep us in the 60s Wednesday morning with highs back in the 70s Wednesday afternoon. Fire danger will be a major concern as south winds will be howling with gusts to 40 miles per hour.

Our next cold front is set to arrive early Thursday morning with some scattered showers and storms possible. That front will knock us back down closer to normal with highs in the upper 50s to wrap up the week, and the potential for some lingering showers into the beginning of the weekend.
